A Greener Solution

Use The Sun To Power Your Home

Solar Panels, also known as Solar Photovoltaic Panels, are a simple, efficient and affordable way of generating power for your home. Solar PV panels use energy generated by the sun and convert this to power that can be used in and around your home, helping to reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint. This carbon-neutral way of powering your home opens the door to energy independence, escaping ever-increasing energy bills and becoming less reliant on fossil fuels. The cost of solar PV panels is at an all-time low, and with an accompanying battery storage system you can save even more money than ever before.

Solar Energy Made Simple

Domestic Solar Panel Installation In 4 Easy Steps

Domestic solar panel installation involves mounting the panels on the roof of a home and connecting them to the electrical wiring in the house. The panels then convert sunlight into electricity, which can be used to power appliances, heating and cooling systems, and other electronic equipment. Depending on the size of the installation, the solar panels may be connected to a single inverter or networked together into an array. Professional solar panel installation requires knowledge of electric wiring and local building codes, as well as a general understanding of the components and principles of solar energy.

Step 1

Get In Touch With Us

Get in touch with us either directly, or by filling out a form. Tell us a bit about what you’re looking for and a member of our team will be in touch.

Step 2

Receive Your Design Proposal

After the initial consultation, you will receive a 3D design concept of your property. This will break down the costs, savings and timescale of your project.

Step 3

Solar Panel Installation

Once a price has been agreed installation can begin. Installation will includes, scaffolding, fitting roof anchors and fitting the frame and panels.

Step 4

Activating Your System

Once installation is complete, we will power up the system to ensure everything is working. You now can start enjoying your green energy savings!

Solar Energy For Your Business

Commercial Solar Panel Installation

Commercial solar panel installations may involve a variety of complex steps, from municipality approvals and inspections to financial analysis and customization of the needs of the building itself.

Step 1

Secure Permissions

Working with a professional solar installation team, the first step is typically to secure any necessary permits and licenses. This can involve working with the local municipality or utility company to ensure that the installation meets local building codes.

Step 2

Site Preparation

The solar system will need to be positioned in the right space to capture sunlight most efficiently. This may mean factoring in roof shape and slope, as well as avoiding any potential shading from nearby trees or buildings.

Step 3

Electrical & Mechanical Checks

Depending on the size, the solar array may require upgrades to the existing electrical and mechanical systems that may involve working with an electrician, plumber, and/or HVAC technician.

Step 4

Financial Analysis

To maximize the return on investment, the financial benefits of solar must be weighed carefully. This may involve evaluating of costs and benefits, tax credits, and incentives available for the solar installation.

Step 5

Solar System Assembly

Once the electrical and mechanical systems are prepared, all components of the solar system are assembled and tested.

Step 6

System Commissioning

After the solar system is installed, a professional solar installer will need to ensure that the system is working correctly and is producing the expected levels of power.

Step 7

Owner Instruction

Finally, the owner of the building should be provided with all necessary instructions on how to monitor, maintain, and use their new solar system.

Store Your Excess Power

Why Not Add A Battery Storage System?

Instead of exporting excess energy back to the grid, why not store it? Get the most out of your solar system by storing your excess power for later use.

With both Solar Panels and Solar Batteries, you are able to generate and store energy to be used as and when you need it. Use this energy after the sun has gone down and your solar panels are no longer generating additional power.

With falling costs, now is the perfect time to make the switch and utilise renewable energy.

Answers To Your Questions

Solar PV – Frequently Asked Questions

What Is The Ideal Roof Direction For Solar Panels?
South-facing roofs benefit the most from solar panel installation due to being exposed to sunlight for the longest period of time. They also see the sun when it’s at its peak and at its highest intensity. As a result, south-facing solar panels tend to generate the most power. However, don’t let this deter you! East and west-facing roofs are also suitable for solar panels and will still see a good deal of green energy generation throughout the day. We would only recommend against solar panels on a north facing roof.
Will I Need Planning Permission?

In most instances, planning permission isn’t required when installing Solar Panels. Solar panels, for the most part, fall under ‘Permitted Development’. If your property is a listed building or located within a conversation area, it is much more likely that planning permission will be required. Our technicians will be able to advise you if you are unsure and offer guidance on how to achieve this.

Can I Take Advantage Of Any Current Grants To Keep Costs Down?
Currently, the UK government is not offering any grants, but instead, offers incentives. Currently, the only scheme available for new applications is the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG). The Smart Export Guarantee allows all homeowners with Solar Panels installed (up to 5MW capacity), to receive payment for selling surplus energy back to the grid.
How Do I know If My Roof Is Suitable?

Unfortunately, not everyone’s home is suitable for Solar. Your suitability for Solar Panels depends on four factors:

  • Your current electricity consumption.
  • The Pitch, Orientation and Space available on your roof.
  • If there is any shading.
  • The radiance level of your location.

The best way to know for sure is to get in touch! Our expert technicians are on hand to provide advice and guidance on all things solar.
